What you need:

1 lbs. flank steak

Olive oil

4 cloves of garlic

1 minced jalapeno

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon chipotle chili powder

2 limes (juiced)

2 tablespoons white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon sugar

 

How to make Carne Asada:

Combine 1/2 cup olive oil with all of the ingredients (except the flank steak).  Add a dash of salt and pepper.

Coat the flank steak with the mixture.  Be sure to cover both sides thoroughly.

Sprinkle fresh ground salt and pepper on both sides of the steak before grilling them on a pre-heated surface.

Once cooked to your preference, remove the steak from the grill and let sit for about 5 minutes.

Slice the meat into thin strips.

Serve with warmed tortillas and fresh salsa or guacamole.
